Educational and Professional Background
David S. Kottler has been practicing law since 1993, following his graduation
cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law. David graduated in the top 6% of his class, having achieved several honors and distinctions, including the American Jurisprudence Award and a merit/achievement scholarship. Prior to pursuing his career in litigation, David clerked for Chief Justice Michael D. Zimmerman at the Utah Supreme Court. He was then hired as a Deputy County Attorney at the Weber County Prosecutor's Office, where he prosecuted felonies and misdemeanors in Utah's 2nd District Juvenile and District Courts. As a prosecutor, David conducted well over 100 trials. In 1998, David expanded his litigation experience and went to work at the Salt Lake Legal Defender Association as a trial attorney. Following a 2-year stint at the Legal Defenders Association, David opened his own law office, focusing his practice on criminal defense and real estate matters. David also obtained his real estate broker license and founded a full service real estate brokerage.
Over time, David's practice evolved into its present form - a solo practice focusing exclusively on personal injury and ski accident cases.
